Maria Fitzgerald

Lead Singer & Company Director

Maria Fitzgerald, a multi award winning singer, actor and music producer, trained at the prestigious and world renowned “Royal Academy of Music” in London where she graduated in 2005 having completed her major study in Musical Theatre.

Maria has extensive vocal training. Her ability to crossover vocal styles and genres to sing Classical, Modern Contemporary & Jazz repertoire makes her a much in demand singer in the music industry.

Her awards to date include the very highly regarded Feis Ceoil (RDS Dublin Ireland) and Feis Mattiu competitions.

Maria has toured internationally with Irish Musical “To Dance on the Moon” as lead female vocalist and has been featured on RTE’s The Late Late Show, UK television station Channel 4 and TV3 Ireland as well as guest soloist at Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin.

Maria is a regular singer on the Musical Theatre platform in Ireland & The UK. She has performed in the countries most prestigious Theatres & Concert Halls, including The National Concert Hall with The RTE Concert Orchestra & The Irish Philharmonic Orchestra. She also completed a series of cabaret shows in The Regent Park Theatre in London and regularly performs on RTE’s The Late Late Show.

Last year Maria released her debut album “Mia, Little Trip To Heaven” under the label, MiaBelle Records. A cool jazz styled album paying homage to old Hollywood Cinema and New York Jazz and produced the intimate concert show of the same title.

Trained at Lancaster University and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London. He has since worked as a pianist, musical director and arranger in both Musical Theatre and Opera.

Musical Direction credits include Dido & Aeneas (South Bank, London), Acis & Galatea (Lon-don/Barcelona), MZT Dance Company (London), The Rocky Horror Show, The Hot Mikado, Side by Side by Sondheim, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, Assassins , Putting It Together, all in Dublin. As Artistic & Musical Director for Music Theatre Ireland productions include: Listen to my Heart, the Songs of David Friedman, The Last Five Years, And The World Goes Round, I Love You’re Perfect Now Change, Songs For A New World, Red Hot and Cole, A New York Songbook, Noel & Gertie.
USA & European Tours include musical direction and arrangements for The Three Irish Tenors, Druid and The Irish Sopranos.

Frank McNamara

Frank McNamara is an internationally known arranger, conductor, composer and pianist from Ireland.

McNamara’s career began at the age of 11, when he first appeared on Irish national television. Frank attended Trinity College, Dublin, where he graduated with music honours. He received the most outstanding pupil award at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Irish audiences are well familiar with McNamara’s work as Music Director of RTÉ’s The Late Late Show for 20 years. He was the arranger and producer of two consecutive winners at the Eurovision Song Contest. He has composed TV themes and other music for Irish television. He has written numerous works for orchestra and has released several albums, which include his orchestral arrangements and original compositions. Those albums have resulted in two platinum albums and two gold albums.

Katie studied violin with Brian McNamara in the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama and graduated with an Honours Bachelor in Music Performance. She works regularly with the RTE Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra and the Wexford Opera Festival Orchestra.

No stranger to the contemporary Irish music scene, Katie has worked with many artists including U2, The Frames, The Corrs and Glen Hansard.

Internationally Katie has performed with Micheal Buble, Puff Daddy, Josh Groban, Kanye West, and the Three Irish Tenors, touring across the globe.

Aoife Ni Dhornain began her violin studies in 1983 with Suzuki method. She attended conferences in Cork in 1985 and in Berlin in 1987. In 1989 she continued her studies with Brian McNamara in The Conservatory of Music. Aoife graduated from UCD with a 1st class honours Bachelor of Music in 1998 and went on to complete a Masters in Music Performance in University of Limerick studying with Hugh Maguire, Mauritzio Fuchs, Georg Paul and Katherine Hunka. She directed the chamber orchestra in UCD to great acclaim in 1997, and returned to play as soloist with the Baroque orchestra in 2000. Aoife was chosen to play with the Viennese Youth orchestra in 1999 and after being invited to play with the Jeunesse Musical Orchestra in Switzerland in 1997 she was asked to lead the Orchestra in a Swiss tour. She performs regularly as soloist and chamber musician throughout Ireland and has toured extensively across Europe and the United States. Aoife has been a member of IBO since 1998 and has played a number of Baroque projects with the Opera Theatre Company including a memorable rendition of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in a Grotto on Valencia Island in collaboration with visual artist Dorothy Cross.

Maria grew up in Thurles County Tipperary where she began playing music at the age of three. She gave her first radio performance on Jane Carthy’s “Young Musicians “ programme aged four ! She was awarded a scholarship to The Royal Irish Academy of Music and made the weekly trip to Dublin every Saturday where she studied violin , piano , chamber music and musicianship . During her time at the Academy she won several awards including seven scholarships which enabled her to further her studies . She won many chamber music competitions and was leader of all the Academy orchestras .

She continued her studies at Trinity College Dublin where she was awarded a B.A. Mod . Since graduating she has gained experience in all areas of music ; classical , opera , traditional , musical theatre , rock/pop etc .

As a freelancer she has toured extensively throughout Ireland , Europe and U.S.A. with groups as diverse as ; The Irish Chamber Orchestra , Riverdance , Frances Black , Wexford Opera , Phil Coulter , Andrea Bochelli , Boyzone and Rod Stewart to name but a few…..

Maria performs regularly on tv and radio and is in great demand as a session violinist.

Paula has been working as a freelance cellist in Ireland since graduating from University College Dublin in 2000, where she earned a B. Mus (International)Hons. in Music and French,while studying cello at the Royal Irish Academy of Music with Annette Cleary. She performs regularly with both the R.T.E. National Symphony Orchestra and Concert Orchestra, as well as the Ulster Orchestra and various other ensembles throughout Ireland. She has performed with artists varying from Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and Placido Domingo to Colm Wilkinson, Glen Hansard ,Enya, Jack L and Kanye West.

Gerald Peregrine is an Irish cellist, who has established a career as a soloist, chamber and orchestral performer.

Born in Dublin to a large musical family, he studied at the RIAM and DIT, before commencing his studies in London aged 14, with William Pleeth. He subsequently trained with Steven Doane at the RCM as a foundation scholar and at Indiana university as a Fulbright scholar, with Janos Starker and Emilio Colon.

Gerald regularly performs as a chamber musician with Ensemble Avalon, Trio Festivale and Camerata Ireland, under the direction of Barry Douglas. He has performed as a chamber musician in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Tchaikovsky Hall, NCPA Beijing, Lincoln centre, Cadogan hall (BBC proms), Theatre de champs elysées among others. He has curated chamber music concerts at festivals in France, Hong Kong and the US.

At WeddingSinger.ie The String Quartet is available to hire as a solo instrumental ensemble or to perform with our singer/singers. One of Ireland’s leading String Quartet, the ensemble comprises of our best musicians who play Violin, Viola & Cello. As a quartet, they have performed at some of the most prestigious venues, for corporate functions & celebrity weddings.
All of our musician have experienced playing with The RTÉ Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, The Ulster Orchestra and many more.

The String Quartet are available to perform at Corporate Events, Wedding Church Ceremonies, Civil Ceremonies, Humanist Ceremonies, Spiritual Ceremonies, Cocktail Hour/Drinks Reception, during the Wedding Meal and for Private Events.

All accomplished classically musicians, skilled in the performance of both Classical & Contemporary Music.

Karl has been an in-demand session guitarist for the past 20 years, and in that time has recorded, gigged and toured with many acclaimed international artists, including Clannad, Gavin Friday, Brian Kennedy, Lesley Garrett, The Irish Tenors and Briana Corrigan (The Beautiful South), among others.

His TV work has seen him perform as a backing musician with Elton John, Westlife, Olly Murs, Sugababes, Enrique Iglesias, Katie Melua, LeAnn Rimes, Natasha Bedingfield, Rodney Crowell, Andrea Corr, Steve Earle, Deacon Blue, Cliff Richard, Russell Watson, Sharon Shannon and Andrea Bocelli.

Karl regularly acts as a theatre guitarist, performing in the pit for amateur and professional theatre production companies around the country, along with regular sessions with the RTE Concert Orchestra.

David Agnew was born in Dublin. He studied Piano, Recorder and Guitar before taking up the Oboe at the age of 17. Arts Council Scholarships enabled him to study with the world’s greatest oboists Heinz Holliger and Maurice Bourgue at International Masterclasses in London, Paris, Avignon and Cologne. He won the first Principal Prize in the College of Music, Dublin in 1979 and completed the Licentiate of Trinity College, London (L.T.C.L.) in 1981.

With his music studies he also completed a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany at University College, Dublin in 1979 followed by M.Sc. Botany in 1981.

He joined the RTE Concert Orchestra in 1982 and has been a frequent and popular soloist with them since. David has also performed as soloist and with orchestra in England, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Japan and Korea. He has toured the USA and Canada extensively with the Concert Orchestra.

He has recorded with the Chieftains, Phil Coulter, Frank Patterson, the original Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, Rod Stewart, R.E.M., Wet Wet Wet, Secret Garden, Irish Film Orchestra, Liam Lawton, Ronan Hardiman and played with most major Irish artists from Paul Brady to Sinead O Connor, Altan, Declan O Rourke, Duke Special, Jerry Fish, Sharon Shannon, the Coronas and Finbar Furey. International artists include. Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras and Kiri te Kanawa, Juan Diego Florez, Lang Lang, Johnny Dankworth, Cleo Laine, James Galway, Vince Mendoza, Kurt Elling, Pink Martini.

Jazz Duo

Julien & John

Jazz Duo

John and Julien met in 2008 when they were both studying the degree in jazz performance and composition at Newpark Music Centre (Dublin, Ireland).

They both pursued projects upon graduating in 2010 and having being firm friends and admirers of each other’s talents they eventually formed a guitar duo in early 2014. It began relatively simply in a restaurant in South William Street (Dublin) and after 4 years they have now built a strong following.

They have released two albums, extensively toured Ireland, played an international jazz festival in Italy and are now regarded as one of the most exiting guitar duos in the Irish scene.

Julien is a highly versatile and what is known as a ‘dyed in the wool jazzer’ and brings a lyrical quality to his guitar playing from his roots deep in the mountains of beautiful “Val Di Comino” in Italy.

John has studied Spanish and Latin American classical guitar and has a longstanding love of pop music and movie soundtracks and together they fuse their influences in a highly intricate yet accessible act.

Julien & John’s jazz ensemble is relaxed & fun providing elegant entertainment for cocktail & drinks reception.

Chris most recently appeared as Murdoch in Titanic at the Princess of Wales theatre, Toronto after performing for two years in the Olivier award winning Les Miserables at The Queens Theatre where he alternated the role of Jean Valjean. He was also invited to be a part of the Miss Saigon 25 celebrations at The Prince Edward Theatre. He played Davy Harrison in a workshop of a brand new musical The Last Ship (Live Theatre Newcastle) directed by Joe Mantello and music written by Sting.

He created the role of Rags Ryan in a new musical Burlesque (Jermyn Street), the show winning the 2012 Offie for Best New Musical. He appeared in The Phantom Of The Opera (Her Majesty’s) playing Firmin on many occasions. He understudied and played Harvey in All The Fun of the fair (Garrick), was Billy Kostecki in the original cast of Dirty Dancing (Aldwych), Snake Preacher and The Man in Whistle Down the Wind (Palace and UK Tour), Big Macca and played Britney and Khashoggi in We Will Rock You (Dominion), original cast of The Witches of Eastwick (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), Vince Fontaine/Teen Angel in Grease (UK and Ireland Tour), Heathcliff (UK Tour), Pharoah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (UK Tour), Elwood Blues in The Official Tribute to the Blues Brothers (UK and European Tour), Out of the Blue (Shaftesbury), understudied and played Chris in Miss Saigon (Theatre Royal,Drury Lane).
